Simplr vs Teamwork.com

Teamwork.com runs client projects.
Simplr runs the client relationship.

Teamwork.com is a mature tool for client work, with proofing, billable time and invoicing. Simplr was built by an account manager for the conversations around the work: briefs, accepted scope, changes and approvals your clients can act on.

01 / THE DIFFERENCE

Where Simplr and Teamwork.com differ

Both tools are made for client work. The difference is whether the product is organised around the project plan or around the account manager’s day.

  1. 01

    Scope the client accepts

In Simplr, the brief becomes a versioned scope the client accepts in the portal. Change requests record price and workload impact, so extra work is agreed before it starts.

  2. 02

    A portal built for decisions

Teamwork.com client users work inside your projects, up to five active projects each. Simplr’s branded portal shows clients only what needs them: versions to approve, scope to accept and files to download.

  3. 03

    Approvals without a sales call

Teamwork.com keeps timesheet approval for Optimize, priced by quote. Simplr Plus includes time approval, Gmail and Microsoft 365 sync and a meeting recorder at a published price.

03 / THE RIGHT FIT

04 / FAQ

Simplr or Teamwork.com: common questions

Teamwork.com is also built for agencies. What’s the difference?

Teamwork.com is organised around projects, tasks and billable hours, and does those well. Simplr is organised around the client relationship: a brief becomes a scope the client accepts, changes are priced before they start, and creative goes from creative director to account lead to client in one portal.

Is Simplr more expensive than Teamwork.com?

Per person, Simplr Plus ($50) costs more than Teamwork.com Accelerate ($24.99), and Simplr Essentials ($20) costs more than Basics ($9.99). Plus includes time approval, email sync and a meeting recorder. On Teamwork.com, timesheet approval and profitability are on Optimize, priced by quote, and shared client inboxes need Teamwork Desk.

Does Simplr connect to QuickBooks or Xero?

Not yet. Simplr Plus creates numbered PDF invoices from approved time, milestones and retainers, and records payments. If your finance team works from QuickBooks or Xero exports today, Teamwork.com supports those.

Can we move our projects from Teamwork.com?

There is no automatic Teamwork.com import yet. Most agencies start with their active clients and jobs, and our team helps you set them up during your walkthrough.
